Getting started

Getting started with Findcub

Download Findcub 0.1.2 Preview for an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 14 or later, then install it and prepare your library.

Choose your content sources

Search the local folders and account content you choose. Available connections and content scope depend on your installed version, account permissions and organization settings.

  • Only content added to your library and prepared on your Mac is searched.
  • Choose the folders or account content you want to include.
  • Check the sources offered by your installed version and the permissions granted by each account.

Mac requirements

Findcub 0.1.2 Preview is available for Apple Silicon with macOS 14 or later.

  • Check your Mac’s chip and macOS version before installation.
  • Preparation time depends on your Mac and the size and kinds of content you add.
  • Allow local storage for the app, models and the library content you prepare.

Install and get started

Use the Findcub-0.1.2-arm64.dmg installer. First use needs an internet connection for sign-in, the model download and initial library preparation.

  • Download and open Findcub-0.1.2-arm64.dmg.
  • Drag Findcub into Applications.
  • Open Findcub from Applications, complete sign-in and the model download, then choose and prepare your content.

Search prepared content offline

After installation, setup and preparation, supported local files already in your library can be searched without an internet connection. Connecting accounts and fetching new cloud content still need internet access.

  • Offline search applies to content already prepared on your Mac.
  • A disconnected account cannot supply new or changed cloud content.
  • Read the privacy explanation for local storage, account authorization and removal controls.
